2004, Touch and Go
REPRESS. VINYL FORMAT. This is Shellac's third LP. There are no 12-minute songs on this one. This record is more mean-spirited, plus Todd sings. Recorded throughout 1998 and 1999 at Steve's Electrical Audio studios in Chicago and mastered by Steve Rooke and John Loder at Abbey Road in London. Those of you familiar with Shellac will appreciate how beautiful packaging has always been important to the band, and "1000 Hurts" shows this commitment. It comes enclosed in a cardboard reel-to-reel audiotape box. The LP was mastered entirely in the analog domain, using the complete DMM (direct metal mastering) process. The LPS were pressed by EMI in London and are 180-gram audiophile quality pressings on pure virgin vinyl.

Andrew SchubertDo you not own this already? Worth it for the "Watch Song" alone. Buy it, turn it up as loud as possible. Then buy everything that either Steve Albini or Bob Weston ever recorded. The CD comes with the LP.
