2005, Magic Marker
Nordic folk and shambling pop lit up with a lovely spark and fire, with some nifty girl group action courtesy vocals by Maria Eriksson (backed by Vega co-vocalist Ellekari Larsson), plus all manner of stringed instruments as strummed by Johnny Marr/Tom Verlaine/Neil Young-esque guitarist extraordinaire Jari Haapalainen. Like Tiger Trap and All Girl Summer Fun Band's folksy, lovely-tough Olympian pop filtered through influences as diverse as Sally Timms and her Mekons and even a little Richard & Linda Thompson action.
