2002, Johann's Face Records
References by the label's one-sheet to synth-driven, sci-fi themed pop, are actually a bit funny. The album starts with the strumming of an acoustic guitar, and for at least the first minute, one isn't sure if this is a soundtrack to a strange 'B' movie, or if it's the debut release from a band that features heavy-hitting Chicago scenester Michael Perkins (a founding member of Sig Transit Gloria.)
The second track on the album, 'When I Was A Little Kid,' jumps into what could be called the signature Written In The Sand sound; at least for this album. It's like this: a keyboard-heavy record by The Anniversary.
