Ah, 1997. Exclusive original art by Frank Kozik depicting two Nazi
mistresses torturing a dwarf in bondage pretty much sums up the spirit
of our we're-so-effing-transgressive period. Inside, the design was
subversively unreadable, thanks to a royal fuck-up by our loser graphic
designer. But it was a great year nonetheless, with an opening nite
concert by The Breeders (their final NY show), the world premiere of Jon
Moritsugu's unbelievably amazing Fame Whore, and a close call with
death when one festival patron nearly OD'ed right there in the theater.
