8 Songs About A Girl

Deep Dark Robot, a Los Angeles-based group whose music is self-described as in the spirit of "dirty French garage pop," features singer/songwriter/producer Linda Perry and drummer Tony Tornay (Fatso Jetson). Of the bands' title, Perry says, "Deep Dark Robot is an artificial agent trying to be human." Given the complexities of life and relationships, she adds, "Aren't we all just trying to be human?"
Deep Dark Robot's debut, 8 Songs About a Girl, is very personal in nature – they were written in the past five months and inspired by a girl who broke Perry's heart. With 8 Songs, DDR bares their souls with music. Each song throughout the album is woven together to tell the story of a troubled relationship.
