'Ron Haydock & the Boppers were Chicago's answer to Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps. One look at the cover to this new Norton rlease will tell that and then some. Haydock's first 45, the title cut, may be the only 50s rockabilly record to have the F word in it, but Haydock evidently had plans to take it way further than that. After leaving Chicago and the Boppers behind, our hero moved out to Hollywood, started writing for assorted movie monster magazines (Famous Monsters of Filmland among them) and even made a film appearance or two (audio clips are here in full drive in movie fidelity) in such choice efforts as Rat Phfink A-Boo-Boo. The whole Haydock story is here to absorb (including his last days writing porno novels!) and the audio end of it (including mucho alternate takes of the title track and other fun stuff) is just fine, fine, fine.
