A New Pacifica

The charming Northern California noise pop kings are back. Beautifully melodic indie-dream-pop meets wall-of-noise sonic dissonance head on –- this is indie pop woven into a blanket of distortion. Reminiscent of "Loveless" and "You Made Me Realise"-era My Bloody Valentine, this trio takes the late '80s shoegazer sound a step into the future with driving, off-timed drumming (think recent Unwound), and an affinity for electronic loops, moog, and samples mixed into the layers. Falsetto vocals and intermittent guitar jangle tips a hat towards the solo albums of Syd Barrett.
