The dreamy debut album from the trio of GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR's EFRIM, THIERRY and SOPHIE. An eight-part collage of two plaintive, reverb-drenched ensemble pieces composed on piano, and then arranged with contrabass and violin, and interspersed with tapes, drones, loops and an occasional vocal. Dedicated to Efrim's dog Wanda, who is dying of cancer. Packaged in vellum-finish cardstock jackets foil-stamped with red metallic ink.

Simply amazing. If you listen to any band on Constellation Records then there is no reason why you wouldn't like A Silver Mt. Zion.

What a great album! Very much like Godspeed You Black Emperor! and others in the dare-to-say genre. If you like mind-blowing emotional music, you got to get this release! It's been in my CD player non-stop since I got it.
