2003, Drag City
An under recognized pioneer of the lo-fi revolution, Smog is essentially the alias of one Bill Callahan, an enigmatic singer/songwriter whose odd, fractured music neatly epitomizes the tenets and excesses of the home-recording boom. Here is a compilation of singles. Includes an unreleased track, b-sides, a-sides, songs from comps. Imagine if you can--the sounds of SMOG from his gold, silver and bronze ages, with fresh life breathed into them once again. Believe it.
