Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O.

VINYL FORMAT. Recurring Dream And Apocalypse Of Darkness is by far the heaviest Acid Mothers Temple record yet. So heavy, in fact, that Kawabata Makoto jokingly said 'the album is really heavy, maybe a bit like Sunn O))). hahahaha.' Both the CD & LP feature remarkable art work by Seldon Hunt.

Double CD reissue of the deleted LP (originally released 2/01), with 3 bonus tracks (approx 44 extra minutes). "Who are Acid Mothers Temple? A freak-out group for the 21st century, founded in 1996 by members of the Acid Mothers Temple soul-collective. Led by Kawabata Makoto (Musica Transonic. Toho Sara, etc.) a 100% genuine cult band that are on a mission to give you massive frontal lobe damage. Imagine spending an acid tinged weekend up a Japanese mountain with only a battered tape player for company. The    [ read more ]

VINYL FORMAT. "Third PSF album from the Nagoya-based (but always heavenly-bound) Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O., led by Japan's current king of the long-hairs and mystic rock-guitar guru Makoto Kawabata (also of Musica Transonic, Mainliner, Toho Sara). Their previous releases were delirious communal Gong/Hawkwind patchouli collisions, colorful as a Life with the Hippie Jetsons cartoon, but with an acid punch that proved their music was beyond any idea of pastiche or irony. RESTOCK. In C is a cosmic krautrock version of the Terry Riley composition and In E is a heavyweight freakout jam! In E was performed every night on the Acid Mothers Temple US tour. Features Kawabata Makoto (electric guitars, violin, zuruna, synthesizer), Tsuyama Atsushi (monster bass), Higashi Hiroshi (electric guitar, synthesizer), Cotton Casino (voice), Ichiraku Yoshimitsu (drums), and Terukina Noriko (vibraphone, glockenspiel).

"Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. Live" recording was made in Japan in December '01 using digital 16-channel recording (so the sounds aren't like the last two live LPs; this is more like studio recording quality). This live performance uses twin drummers: IchirakuYoshimitsu (ex-AMT/Nishinihon/ISO) and Koizumi Hajime (the original drummer in AMT; he also was the original Mainliner drummer who played on "Mellow Out"). This concert was Ichiraku's last performance in AMT. The line up was Cotton,   [ read more ]

This seems to be a live LP recorded during their tour of 2000 but it looks like one of those classic dubious live records from the seventies in the vein of the Pink Floyd, Emerson, Lake and Palmer or Kiss. Photo copied image on plain white sleeve with black labels. Apparently there were 1000 pressed. Not much more to be said.
