Al Green finally recorded a holiday album in 1983, years after his popularity had waned until he was left with only a cult following. Even though he was no longer having hits, Green was still an astonishing vocalist, and he breathes life into these fairly predictable (and utterly too-slick) pop-soul arrangements of such familiar tunes as "Jingle Bells," "I'll Be Home for Christmas," "Silent Night," "O Holy Night," "Winter Wonderland," "The Christmas Song" and "White Christmas."
