On the second full-length from Summer at Shatter Creek, the immediate, multi-layered sounds and vocals seem otherworldly and enveloping, not at all resembling an album made at home with a few spare instruments, but instead a heady magical journal into a world operating on neuroses and melancholia. Like Elliott Smith walking into a chocolate shop owned and operated by the Flaming Lips.
