The Golden Band (CD)
3rd album of punchy & airy pop songs to send you into the upper statospheres replacing the lack of oxygen with billowing clouds of Farfisa gas. The Golden Band reduces the American Analog Set's approach to its barest essentials - favoring shorter, more economical songs over the epics of past outings, The Golden Band also strips away much of their cosmic veneer to reveal the human pulse which tethers Andrew Kenny's songs and keeps them from floating away. - All Music Guide

| The only AMANSET album with hooks. There are two of them, and they are incredible. The rest of the album is their typical earth-shattering mellow grooves. Album warning: will cause you to fall into an ethereal companionship with any bystanders. Choose company well. | |

| See, I clean barbeques. This is my job. And I hate it. When I'm feeling particularly angry with my boss (whose incessant racist droning really puts a crimp in my day), all I want when I get home is to chill out on a really nice, calm album. "The Golden Band" is an album like that. Full of wistful memories and lovely organ drone, I really can't get enough. Recommended. | |

| This album, and all of American Analog Set's music, is just so incredibly intimate. The farfisa in the background gives the the entire album this warmth that I have never heard before. You almost feel as if the music was made in this cocoon of warm orange light. Amazing album. | |

| This album takes a while before it insinuates itself. Subtle, a little like the Feelies "Good Earth" and a little like the third VU album. Add some Stereolab and you're getting closer. This is the best album I've heard in a long while. It makes life better. | |
