Hot on the heels of 2001's critically acclaimed Know By Heart, Texas'

favorite rockers American Analog Set return with an EP to tide you over

until their next full-length pop smash (slated for this fall). Entitled

Updates, this EP is just that -- a 6 track delicacy of updated, remixed

and reworked AmAnSet (and even her space holiday) songs. Updates brings

together two special guests to rework Analog Set classics with an

electronic twist.





First up, AmAnSet offers up two never released (and newly recorded)

tracks of their own. "These Days" is a her space holiday cover (from

2001's "Manic Expressive") that is all AmAnSet-ized into a pop gem. The

second tracks is a reprise of their 7" only track entitled "Desert Eagle

(All I Want for Christmas)".

IDM noises with hip-hip flavored beats. her space holiday's remixes preceded

the duo's forthcoming remix releases for the likes of R.E.M. and The

Faint.





Belgium's Styrofoam (Morr Music) also takes a stab at two tracks in

a way that only Styorofoam can. Equal parts mellow and minimal electronic

with more organic keyboard and synth sounds. This release marks AmAnSet's

first foray into the electronic world. If you can dig the band's ability to

create mellow and catchy pop gems than this EP is sure to please.
