2010, Jade Tree
VINYL FORMAT. Cap'n Jazz's seminal
discography
Analphabetapolothology is now
available on vinyl for the first time,
over a decade since the original CD
release! As Cap'n Jazz's legacy has
grown in popularity, so has demand for a
vinyl reissue. This is a package well
worth the wait. The double LP, recut
from the original high resolution
masters and pressed at RTI on 120 gram
vinyl, is packaged in a deluxe gatefold
jacket with bonus materials including a
full size, eight page booklet with
unseen photos, fliers, and extensive
liner notes by Tim Kinsella. The
accompanying high quality digital
download of the entire album also
includes ten additional songs from the
original CD release.
With only one full-length album to their name alongside a handful of singles and compilation tracks, Chicago's Cap'n Jazz left a longstanding impression and irrefutable influence on the region's bohemian punk scene and unwittingly spawned a breeding ground for future scene stars such as the Promise Ring, Joan Of Arc and Owls. Analphabetapolothology compiles twenty-four songs over two LPs and spans the band's entire history. Traces of their sonic fingerprint permeate hundreds of indie records released in their wake.
