Animal Collective V-Neck Shirt

This is a purple Animal Collective v-neck shirt. It was designed by Rob Carmichael, and printed on American Apparel Fine Jersey V-Neck t-shirts in a limited edition of 120! On the heels of our 2009 Collection and driven by the same desire for impeccably designed, quality band apparel, Soundscreen Design approached five highly regarded design studios and fashion designers to create original designs for their choice of two inspiring, influential bands. The 2010 Collection features original designs, printed in limited quantities on American Apparel garments, features custom hang tags denoting designer and band.

About the Designer:
Rob Carmichael is a graphic designer based in Brooklyn, where he founded SEEN, an independent art direction and graphic design studio. His work at SEEN includes cover art and packaging design for Beirut, Dirty Projectors and Animal Collective. He is also founder and artistic director of Catsup Plate, an independent record label known for painstakingly hand-made, limited-edition music products.

About the Band:
Formed in 2000, Animal Collective has received a recent surge of accolades for their latest release Merriweather Post Pavilion (2009). Originating in Baltimore and now based out of New York City and Portugal, Animal Collective is comprised of members David Portner, Brian Weitz, and Josh Dibb and Noah Lennox (also of Panda Bear). It's difficult to generalize Animal Collective's sound, which encompasses aspects of psychedelic pop, noise rock and freak folk. In 2010 Animal Collective premiered Oddsac, a feature film collaboration with filmmaker Danny Perez. Described as a new synthesis of music and film, a "visual album," the soundtrack will not be released in any other form. Perez and Animal Collective previously collaborated on several projects, including a major art installation piece "Transverse Temporal Gyrus," which occupied the entire Guggenheim Museum in New York City.
