2011, Friday Music
In 1977, Renaissance's angelic vocalist supreme Annie Haslam and The Move/ELO founder Roy Wood put their amazing talents together and recorded the progressive rock masterpiece Annie in Wonderland. Filled with wonderful prog-leaning Roy Wood compositions like "I Never Believed in Love" and "Hunioco" as well as Renaissance's Jon Camp inspiring album opener "If I Were Made of Music," Annie in Wonderland is truly a treasured piece of musical artistry that continues to stand the test of time. However, the real treat here is the beautiful five octave vocal range of Annie Haslam. With her vocal prowess combined with Roy Wood's production and arrangements, the listener will be thrilled to hear interpretations of classics like Rogers and Hammerstein's "If I Loved You," which make this album a must have for any music fan. Friday Music is very proud to offer the music of Annie Haslam of Renaissance with her first solo album Annie in Wonderland. This legendary album has been out of print for many years and we are very honored to be the home of this wonderfully produced effort. For this special edition, we have gone back to the original Sire Records tapes and re-mastered the album for the audiophile medium. Plus, the big news here is the reunion of Annie Haslam and Roy Wood, teaming up for the new bonus track "Flowers in the Rain." This time tested classic rock track by Wood's iconic band The Move brings a whole new life to this ground breaking song. Featuring his amazing instrumentation along with the enchanting vocals of Annie Haslam, this tune truly receives the five-star revisit it deserves.
