2006, Self-Released
Apples are behind many things: computers, the Beatles’ record label, alcohol on the American frontier, gravity, and original sin. No other fruit can claim responsibility for such an array of important forces, just as no other fruit could inspire pop tunes of this caliber. The apple ep is a collection of six immediately likeable but fascinating pop songs, each about a different variety of apple. Each song is a single, and while the Beatles-esque tracks are familiar in feel, they all manage to take unexpected and interesting twists. Piano heavy, the vintage analog production sounds like something from three decades prior.

Andy L.This album is amazing. I haven't stopped listening to it since it made its way to my ipod. Granny Smith and Northern Spy are probably my favorite tracks, but Malus Domestica is beautiful too. They're just good pop tunes that not enough people are making. Seriously, one of my favorite albums of the year.
