Blue Ox Babes were founded back in 1981 by Kevin Al Archer, co-founder of Dexys Midnight Runners & this album was originally scheduled for release on Go! Discs ll the way back in in 1988.
Now, moe than 20 years later 'Apples & Oranges' finally sees the light of day! This first-ever album boasts some original 1981 demos which inspired Kevin Rowland to create Dexys’ Too-Rye-Ay sound. Eight of the 19 tracks are previously unissued & all three of the band’s A’s and B’s for Go!
Substantial media interest surrounds this release, following the high profile coverage for another Dexys spin-off project, The Bureau. Look out for four extra demo tracks which will be available as an exclusive digital download only E.P!
