Fingers Crossed (MP3)
Architecture in Helsinki is an eight-piece combo from Melbourne, Australia (not Finland) that makes ingenious chamber rock for the laptop age, combining guitar-bass-drums with horns, strings, male and female vocals, lots of handclaps, samples, and subtle electronics. 'Architecture in Helsinki are eight men and women who join hands, hearts and a ridiculous number of instruments (thirty-one were used in recording this album!) to create overpoweringly melodic music that reflects a deep sense of joy and fraternal love...there are more than enough striking elements [on this album] to make you want to call in sick to work and lie in bed with the album on infinite repeat.
