2005, Scratchy
Some bands have great tunes. Some bands are great live, and sometimes fate is a greedy mofo and gives a band both things at once. The rocks may be at the beginning of their evolutionary trail but they are unashamedly in possession of both these qualities. Produced in the most part by Marc Waterman (Elastica/ A.r.e. weapons) Asking for trouble... is 11 fantastic punk rock disco 50's rocknroll classics played with the kind of enthusiasm and exuberance usually reserved for a bunch of coca-cola'ed up 5 year olds round the sand pit. The sound is of a band who are not afraid to have a good time. At times it genuinely feels like singer James Taylor's throat is going to leave his body, but even at their most ferocious on songs like 'Save the Wolf,' there's a great tune underneath. As they say themselves 'we got it, do you want it baby ?'
