2000, Jetset
Contrary to popular misconception, Spoozys are not from outer space; they come from Tokyo, Japan. Two previous Japanese albums and their insane live shows have combined to make Spoozys a favorite in their homeland. Collaborations by Spoozys' guitarist/singer/songwriter, Jun Matsue with Cornelius, Cibo Mato, Pizzicato Five, Fantastic Plastic Machine and Buffalo Daughter have only added rocket-fuel to the Spoozys inferno.
Fed on a strict diet of Japanese legends like Plastics and Yellow Magic Orchestra, as well as Devo and early B-52s, Spoozys are a genetically engineered mutation of punk-a-delic guitar, space-age keyboards and hyper-driven beats.
Now that "Astral Astronauts" will be unleashed upon an unsuspecting US public, the band are splashing down in America to establish a home base in New York and light the fuse of Spoozy-mania stateside.
