Atom and His Package
Pennsylvania-native punk pioneer Adam Goren is one of the most unconventional musicians of his time. Armed with only his "package," the creative musician is known for his hilarious, playful synth pop punk songs and outrageous rhymes about unconventional topics. Adam Goren, as his alter ego persona Atom, writes, performs, and records all of the music himself with a QY700 Music Sequencer, an RM1X music sequencer, and a B.C. Rich guitar.

Atom's (the sequencing man's) first kooky release with original hits like "Atom's theme song" and "(she's just a) head". There are also covers of a Born Against and Misfits song. Atom plays quirky electronic pop-punk and is the only man in the band?in fact a real life punk rock one man/one machine show...Carbon and Silicon based lifeforms working together in syncopated harmony. Remember to wear some depends because you'll piss in your pants laughing...especially when you see Atom and His Package live.

An essential eulogy to the band (i.e., Adam Goren and his sequencer) for the legions of cult fans, Hair: Debatable is the final, rocking nail in the Atom & His Package coffin: a recording of Goren's last live show. Hardest working geek in indie rock? Hot off the heels of late 2001's Redefining Music (Hopeless Records), ATOM AND HIS PACKAGE offers five new anthems for his adoring cult on the Hamburgers EP (FT 42). HUMAN LEAGUE beats crunched between VAN HALEN riffs, and sing along choruses of home owning and law defying dilemmas make for a humorously twisted pop affair.

Philadelphia native Adam Goren and his sequencer (the package) have been rocking the indie and punk communities since the mid-'90s, and with Redefining Music, their riotous skills are given a fine representation. Atom's songs are humorously simple and often-skewed takes on his own reality, and this project is, of course, more of the same. Along the wild '80s-tinged ride, he throws in a twisted love song or two, a Madonna cover ("Open Your Heart"), and the brilliantly titled ode to neces [ read more ]
