1999, Scientific
Songwriters Ginny Weaver and Brendan Lynch formed Star Ghost Dog in Northampton, MA in the summer of 1995. After moving to Boston they soon caught the ears of Catapult Records, and in the fall of '97 the band recorded their debut CD, Happylove. The success of Happylove and the band's electrifying live shows have rapidly turned Star Ghost Dog into a much-talked-about sensation in Boston, where they now play to sold out crowds and were voted first runner up for Best New Local Act in the 1998 Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll. Nationally they're also catching fire; Happylove spent 3 months on the CMJ charts, peaking at #57, and has met with extensive critical praise in the music press. Star Ghost Dog has shared the bill with a number of rock favorites, including Letters To Cleo, Jack Drag, the Gravel Pit, Placebo, and Sloan.
