Steel Panther are a glam metal band from Los Angeles, California and are mostly known for their profane and humorous lyrics as well as their exaggerated on-stage personas. The quartet began to gain popularity in the Sunset Strip at the beginning of the new millennium under the name Metal Shop. The band did weekly shows on Monday nights at Los Angeles' famed Viper Room playing covers of hair metal hits while parodying the bands that made the songs famous. Eventually the residency became so popular, the band made moves to larger more prominent venues in Hollywood, eventually winding up at the House of Blues.
