2005, Stones Throw
Koushik's unique blend of psychedelia and hip hop has been called "something like The Byrds produced by DJ Premier." He debuted with Battle Times, a 45 released on Kieran Hebden/Four Tet's Text label, which brought him to the attention of Stones Throw. His music received instant support from the likes of Gilles Peterson (a #1 chart placing, no less) and friends Dan Snaith (Caribou) and Four Tet who have played his tracks in clubs and on the radio around the world.
