Snowing Sun (CD)
On their debut record, Snowing Sun, Bellini have created an amazing chunk of rock 'n' roll -- if you're prepared. Constructed from the finest ingredients of Uzeda and Don Caballero, Bellini is a solid outfit. Damon Che (Don Caballero) is the enormous rhythm section, playing as if he was a frenzied eight-armed octopus. Agostino Tilotta (Uzeda), on the attacking guitar, is followed by drooling Guitar Center techs. Matthew Taylor completes the rhythm section on bass, giving the ship girth. Giovanna Cacciola (Uzeda) rounds out the band, contributing voice, a voice that is urgent and important, you must listen. Recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio, the album has a heavy sound, sometimes hard, sometimes slow, always aggressive. It's the perfect marriage of bass, drums, guitar, and voice -- this is no ordinary band. And this is no ordinary record.
