Bionic Hands

Until very recently, Jason Korzen was known for being the frontman of indie synthpop band, Barcelona, a band with a legion of fans around the world, among them: John Peel, Kasey Keller (former US soccer team goalie and to whom Barcelona dedicated one of their songs), and Cameron Crowe. Even Tom Cruise was seen dancing to their songs on a movie set. But in 2002, when they seemed ready to cross the gap between indie and mainstream pop, Barcelona broke up. It was then that Jason, who usually wrote songs about machines, technology, and virtual relationships, decided to give his music a human twist. Armed with new themes, a guitar, some melodica arrangements, and his wife Amy (and some friends from Washington D.C.’s pop scene), Jason created the songs that define Sprites. These six tracks showcase Sprites' (and specifically Jason's) talent at mixing catchy pop tunes with brilliant lyrics about personal relationships.
