Bliss Descending

After membership in several noteworthy rock bands including Jellyfish and The Grays, Jason Falkner set out on his own--releasing his debut solo record Jason Falkner Presents Author Unknown on Elektra in 1996. Several independent 7" records were released on Sub Pop and Lovitt records over the next year. That was followed up in 1999 by Can You Still Feel which furthered his unique brand of experimental roller-coaster guitar pop and cemented his critic’s darling cult status. In 2001 Jason joined the French duo Air and toured the world more than once. That same year Jason released a collection of 4-track recordings entitled Necessity; The 4-Track Years on SPINART and continued touring with Air well into 2003. Which brings us to the present and the new EP entitled Bliss Descending. Recorded mostly at Jason's home studio the songs come off as different character studies that avoid the obvious and still manage to fulfill the title’s promise.
