2009, Destructive Recordings
VINYL FORMAT. Having been relatively quiet over the last two years, DST 007 sees the return of Search and Destroy with a mighty 12". Featuring two tracks that encompass Search and Destroy's hard yet musical ethos to a tee: musicality and emotion, yet dancefloor friendly. "Blue Mantra": Soaked all the way through with a beautifully sullen orchestral riff and a lush string arrangement that drops into a snaking halfstep break, swirling arpeggios and a moving brick wall of sub that bounces along with fierce purpose. This one keeps the vibes musical and female-friendly, but crosses over into dancefloor territory. "Daybreak": As the name suggests, this track is like a rude awakening from a dream. Kicking off from darkness and ethereal atmospherics into a bumpy push and pull bassline, like riding a dingy over tidal waves of bass. Skipping breaks mutate underneath stuttered arpeggiators and warped drum fills. These tracks have received support from the likes of N-Type, Caspa, Oneman, Chef, Luke Envoy, Reso, Skream and even your local Nike Town store.
