Bonk

There are two bands with this name:
1) An alternative metal band from Ohio
2) A garage punk band from Norway

1) Although originating in a small, county town in Ohio, Bonk has no small-town sound. A large scale map of musical motifs is needed to sort through the various rhythms, riffs, styles and influence that has gone into the making of Bonk’s second full length album, “Midnight Poetry”. No space on the eighty minute disc was left uncharted making the CD a true manifestation of what Bonk is really about. Throughout “Midnight Poetry”, Bonk attempts to transcend and evolve musical boundaries from six individual perspectives; splicing jazz and metal in songs like “Prosthetic Stars” and “90 Some Miles” and advancing thought processes in songs like “The Swing Effect” and “What is it”. After numerous reviews, notwo critics have come to agreement as to Bonk’s musical classification, proving that no matter what your musical taste… Bonk has played with Mushroomhead, Soulfly, Authority Zero, (Hed) pe, Dry Kill Logic, Crisis, Bobaflex, Byzantine, Muze and more

Bonk is not Norwegian for the sound of a car smashing into the front of a bank, nor does it mean hurtling over a fjord in a burnt-out speedboat, strangling the bad guy to get the girl, but somehow in the shape of a single album, those clean-living folk from the land where the sun never sets have made a sound which feels like doing both things at the same time, naked. Drawing on influences as disparate as Tamla Motown, Norwegian Death-Punk, and The Who, Bonk is the sound of a culture hell-bent on putting litter into bins and the rock into punk.
