VINYL FORMAT. On clear vinyl; limited to 500 copies! Cast Spells is David Davison, lead singer of Maps & Atlases. This is the first time the EP will be available on wax and has been re-sequenced to include an extra track called "All Brass" which appeared on a split 7" with Good Old War. Driven by sonic experimentation, the avant-pop delivery of Cast Spells' debut EP, Bright Works and Baton points to the influence of artists such as Brian Eno, Bill Callahan and Cat Stevens but breathes quickly into the lungs of a new lyrical body. Davison and producer Jason Cupp charged the recording process with an ambitious immediacy. In seven days and with one microphone, twenty-eight songs were born in the basement of Davison's childhood home. Pounding the notes of any instruments within reach, Davison and Cupp performed nearly the entire album themselves, often using the first take.

Look, just accept that Americans don't know music. Dave made some decent sounds out of a band that was doing multiple motivations and drives, a great band, but one that takes uber-human tolerance and inspirado to create......and yet it created the greatest sounds you'll know......unbenknonwnst (?) to most mortals
