RESTOCK. Formed by James Canty (Make Up, Cupid Car Club, Nation of Ulysses) and Jerry Busher (All Scars, Fugazi, Fidelity Jones) in 2001, French Toast relies on two humans to mix the sounds of guitars, keyboards, drum kit, various percussion, samplers, and sequencers with personal and haunting lyrics. With comparisons to Mission of Burma, Savage Republic, Captain Beefheart, the Wipers and Wire, French Toast refuses to be bound by convention or held back by the rules of Generation zzzzzzzzz. Their recordings are done at Busher's Bugman Studios, and this debut is on Arrest Records, a label Canty established with friend Ben Adams.
