Collisions (CD)
With previous albums on Young God and Arena Rock, this is CALLA's debut release on Beggars. Having already formed a core NYC fan base, toured with Interpol, Nick Cave, and countless others, the band will begin their headlining tour this fall. "As the carcass of garage rock gets picked over by major label vultures, CALLA's latest carpet bombs the indie malaise. Hot wiring the subtle anthemics of early U2 with the celestial tinkering of My Bloody Valentine, the Brooklyn trio create pseudo-psychedelic soundscapes birthed from peyote-fueled fever dreams" - Details.![]()

| Sometimes there are those moments when the first track kicks in and you just know what you're listening to is damn good. Great production, consistent dark mood and stick-in-your brain vocal hooks make Collisions my favorite release of '05. For those of you who previously weren't Calla fans, I highly recommend this release to add to your rotation. | |
