Southeast Engine's folk-rock aesthetic emerged from the Ohio underground in 1999. The Wrens discovered the band in 2006 and helped them get a record deal with Misra Records. Canary is Southeast Engine's fifth record, and while it preserves their signature sound, it also marks a dramatic step forward in regards to songwriting and arrangement.
