Meet Sweaters: the inevitable product of four gents gathering from around the way, determined to channel the native nature of sprawling Los Angeles, "City by the Sea." After releasing their first two-track EP, Sky Mall/Investigations, in May 2010 with Slow Death Records, Sweaters have teamed up with White Iris Records to launch their latest 7-inch, Can't Stop Winning, produced by Fool's Gold's Lewis Pesacov.
This quartet grooves around with bent sounds, thick harmonies, and crucially cool vibes in a city famous for harboring all sort of disastrous personalities. Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon, Papa John, and Dennis Wilson might have said wonderful things about them, but we shall never know. In a crushing blow of disappointment, the Davies brothers were unavailable for comment. Eating the past while toasting to the future, ladies and gentleman, we bring you LA's own: Sweaters. With hope and a decent amount of luck, they are today's last great pop band.
