Tides Of Tomorrow (CD)
Although this impromptu release isn't the much anticipated major label full-length follow-up to Cave In's 2000 landmark, Jupiter, it is yet another step closer to enlightenment through the eyes and ears of the four Bostonian gentlemen collectively known as Cave In. Oh, and it's damn good too. Basically, what we have here is a relaxed Cave In. A Cave In who were able to approach this release without the stress that perhaps comes with recording a record for a huge-ass corporation. The final product is astounding, really. The boys effortlessly squeezed out five dynamic new gems and one new cover song. Driving expansive and serene. And of course, this release is complete with the usual fantastic packaging from Hydra Head.

| A mix of Failure and Led Zeppelin, a modern day Pink Floyd-Yes, it's difficult to describe the unique, rocking sound of this Boston quartet, but to their true fans, they are simply known as "Space-Rock". Cave In is the first in what may be the next biggest trend in music. They have been inspiring bands for years, and will continue to do so with their major label on RCA Records (out March 18th) titled Antenna. This cd is another Cave In space rock success. From the rocking title track "Tides of Tomorrow" to the complex "Dark Driving", Cave In demonstrates how easily they can transpire from one musical category to the next. Singer and guitarist Stephen Brodsky leads the band with choruses that inspire, and he soothes your soul at other times with his serene vocals and impressive lyrics. His harmonies can be compared to such legends as the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Rush-but don't let that fool you. This band is by far not like anything you have heard before. Personal favorites include the rockin' "Come Into Your Own" and "Everest" which both have beautifl choruses. And that's just 2 songs off this AMAZING Space Rock full length that will leave you wanting more!!! Fans of Pink Floyd, Rush, Failure, The Strokes, Foo Fighters, Sparta, Led Zeppelin, and At The Drive In (to name a few) will LOVE this band. | |
