Celan

Formed in Berlin, Germany, in 2008, Celan is a sort of experimental rock supergroup and side project formed by members of other bands: Chris Spencer from Unsane; keyboard player Ari Benjamin Meyers from Einstnrzende Neubauten; Franz Xaver and Phil Roeder, the rhythm section from flu.id; and guitarist Niko Wenner from Oxbow. The group announced its existence by posting tracks on its Myspace page (myspace.com/celanband). Exile on Mainstream Records released their debut album, Halo, on September 1, 2009, and they launched a three-week tour of Europe later in the month. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi
