Celer

Celer was formed in 2005 by Danielle Marie Baquet and William Thomas Long. From 2005 to 2009, Celer was the duo of Will Long and Danielle Baquet-Long. From 2009 to the present, Celer is the solo ambient project of Will Long.

Danielle was born July 31, 1982, in Anaheim, California. In 2000-2004 she attended the University of California in Santa Barbara, studying Psychology, Gender, Religion, Education, Basque History, Creative Writing, Photography, and Tibetan Studies. In 2002 she traveled to India, where she lived and studied in Bylakuppe, Karnataka at the Namdroling Monastery, and in Dharamsala, where she met the Dalai Lama, participated in Human Rights work for Tibet, and taught Tibetan children English. Later she traveled to Nepal, where she lived in Kathmandu. Upon returning to the United States, she became a teacher of Special Education in Huntington Beach, California. She was also a painter, photographer, a highly prolific writer of fiction, poetry, non-fiction, a vocalist, and a self-taught musician and composer. She was also the owner of two rescued wolf dogs from Arizona. She died of heart failure on July 8, 2009. In Dani and Will’s time together, they produced numerous custom, handmade self-releases on CDR, sound and art for installations and art exhibitions, and many works for independent labels in North America, Europe, and Asia.

William Thomas Long was born on December 8, 1980, in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended the University of Mississippi, and Belhaven College, studying History, Literature, Creative Writing, Philosophy, Film History, and Journalism. He is a published writer of fiction and poetry, and has exhibited photography and video in the United States and Asia.

Will currently lives in Tokyo, Japan, working in publishing, photography, music, and writing. He curates the label Two Acorns, and handles all releases, communication, and distribution of Celer and Chubby Wolf releases, performing live regularly as Celer, and collaborating with other artists. Currently he is collaborating together many artists such as with Miko under the name Oh, Yoko, and is actively involved in other individual projects with Mathieu Ruhlmann, Nicholas Szczepanik, Yui Onodera, Christoph Heemann, Corey Fuller, and Tomoyoshi Date.
