2005, Pronoia Records
'Centerville' differs from many of red.star.line's (RSL) other tracks as it's perhaps the song most heavily influenced by The Stones Roses, with a grainy echo-y vocal over the crashing drums and long guitar rifts. Taking inspiration from the town where Tim and Colin grew up and an episode of Twilight Zone (hence the American spelling), 'Centerville' was born. Life in the small town became stagnant for them, and they couldn't stand the repetition of everyday life, hence the move to London. Every time they went back to visit the town nothing had changed, 'Whenever we go back it's just the same people with more children' says Colin of his hometown. And so they wrote the song about the small mundane place they used to call home.-ilikemusic.com
