2004, Northeast Indie
In celebration of ten years of existence Cerberus Shoal has decided to remix, re-master and reissue their first, self-titled record. This music was written in the fall and winter of 1994 in the harsh environs of Boston and recorded in the bleak wash of Bangor, Maine during the early winter of 1995. The original release was a 12" LP with 1000 copies pressed and distributed by Stella White Records. This debut of Cerberus Shoal takes listeners back to the late '80's and early 90's influence of Ebullition, Gravity and Old Glory Records with their sensitive, intelligent and musically extreme punk groups such as Still Life, Iconoclast, Downcast and Heroin. You can also hear the influence of other post rock crazies Merel, Hoover, Neurosis, Slint and Rodan. At approximately 40 minutes, six pieces with and without vocals, this LP demonstrates the first sparks of a burgeoning relationship that would last until today. Cerberus Shoal's self-titled debut completes the recorded history of an innovative musical group that continues to evolve with little regard for yesterday.
