2008, Bar/None Records
It's basically more of the same from Mr. Soundtracks on his third album, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. He doesn't solely stick to the lounge-ish piano ballads that have been his trademark, occasionally jangling things up a bit. Considering his background, though, his best assets are turning out to be the surprisingly conventional ones of tuneful, affecting slow pieces. These should appeal to fans of John Cale, David Bowie, Alex Chilton, and Brian Wilson, to name a few reference points. When he tries to rock harder...his voice isn't quite strong enough to carry raucous material. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
