Bridging indie rock attitude with prog rock soundscapes, Indiana's Check Engine came together in early 2000 after several failed attempts in other bands. Sweep the Leg Johnny's Steve Sostak and Chris Daly had been jamming together since the early '90s, but yearned for something more permanent. Big'N drummer Brian Wnukowski and Lynx bass player Paul P.
