This is the third album from the Montreal drums-n-viola powerhouse. Gen's bows out a vortex of jigs, reels and air raid drones into Eric's polyrhythmic beats. Beautiful racket. A minimalist pop sensibility prevails in the stripped-down melodicism of the string playing, reminiscent of similarly folk-inspired modern music by the likes tony conrad and arnold dreyblatt.
