Pyramid Technology (CD)
Baltimore's favorite sons return with their sophomore full length. This powerful three piece
featuring members of Moss Icon, Universal Order of Armageddon, Born Against, The Great
Unraveling and Behind Closed Doors show why they are both the history and the future of
rock, mixing psychedelic guitar, hypnotic bass and precise drumming into a sound you
have never heard.
Recorded entirely in their own "Supreme Imperial" Studios (named by the Rastas who used
to live there) on a 2-inch/24 track recorder by Chris Coady, the band was able to capture the
energy of their live performances while also adding additional instrumentation (keyboards)
and guest vocal appearances. Although much of the material was written prior to the recording
process, the trio used the raw energy of the recording sessions to improvise and expand upon
previously conceived musical ideas. The result of all of this is an amalgamation of various
punk and hardcore styles mixed with unconscious nods to hip hop (check out 'Recognize'
and the expanded drum sounds throughout the record) and heavy psychedelic rock rock.
Convocation Of? are a relentless touring band. See them on the road throughout 2001 and
beyond with the likes of Tristeza, The Locust, Glass Candy and more.
"a punk rock trio unlike any you've heard before. This band is immediately set apart by the
quality of its musicianship and the sophistication of its members' instrumental interplay."
