2004, Polyvinyl
This, Of Montreal's fourth album, was released in 2001. It's the band's most ambitious album with songs of wonderful madness featuring strange musical interludes, a detective story, gentle love songs, and avant pop songs, ending with an 18-minute piano opus.

Customer Reviews

Carlo AlexA solid album by Of Montreal. My only complaint would be that the album is totally ADD. The songs are shorts and the ideas seem unfleshed out, but that aside the songs are interesting and lyrical. The album is roughly a concept album but I have trouble following the plot, if there is one. Not an album for the faint of heart because it takes effort, it does not have any "singles" but the album is a fun adventure.
