2009, Reprise
Mastodon's fourth studio album, Crack The Skye, is a conceptual piece in the same vein as the band's previous releases. It mines subject matter from czarist Russia and astral travel to out-of-body experiences and Stephen Hawking's theories on wormholes for an unrepentantly heavy aural assault that will shake the heavens.
Deluxe Edition features a three-dimensional wormhole cover designed by Paul Romano, as well as a DVD with photos, track-by-track commentary, and a making-of featurette.
