Following the 2006 release of Happy Hollow, Cursive launched a remix site that allowed users to register and download separated tracks for the song 'Bad Sects' (the second single from Happy Hollow). Remixers submitted their rearranged versions for a Bad Sects Remix Contest. The band posted some of their favorite submissions on the site and chose the winning remix to be used as a b-side on a future single. Available digitally and as a 12-inch LP is the winning remix by A Crude Mechanical, along with a strings remix done by a friend of the band, the album cut, and instrumental.
