2004, No More
Finally! The seminal no-wave band makes its CD debut with this compilation of all of their studio recordings, plus a few live tracks. Of particular note are the unreleased studio tracks 'Grapefruit,' 'Police Chase,' and 'Young Teenagers Talk Sex' (heard here for the first time), as well as live versions of the unreleased songs 'Nearing' and 'Surrender.' Features exclusive liner notes from Byron Coley, Jason Gross, and Glenn O'Brien, alongside many unseen photos and flyers. DNA only released 12 songs during its lifetime (and another three shortly afterwards on a European compilation), but their impact was wide reaching. Many musicians have cited DNA as a major influence, including Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and the band Blonde Redhead, who appropriated their name from a DNA song title.
