2009, Belka
Darren Hayman and John F Morrison formed The French immediately after splitting from cult favourites Hefner in 2001. Concentrating on an exclusively electronic style they experimented for two years with broken rythmn boxes and modular systems.
This Ep preceded the album and is now extremely rare.
'Anne and Bill' and 'Vanessa's Birthday' are two of the most heartbreaking songs Hayman has ever written and this mini album is a vastly overlooked release in his cannon.
The French were recently chosen by MOJO magazine for its Buried Treasure feature.
